    October 15, 2011 at 3:43 pm
    • Admin says:

Try to write about something other than clothes, hoes, drugs and money. The only language restriction is no swearing. All the best rappers can write amazing verses without swearing… Are you one of them?

and how would i go about entering a class there if im canadian..? is there anything in canada like this.. is sounds like a great program..?

    October 15, 2011 at 5:09 pm
    • Admin says:

Yeah I know what your saying, but we just have to be careful because we dont want to offend any of our sponsors like Pepsi and Propellerhead Software who like to keep a “wholesome” image. They sponsored this contest, so its just the way things are…

Sorry but at the moment we aren’t in Canada. We are opening locations in San Francisco and New York City. Get the word out to your friends about us and maybe we’ll make it to Canada one day. Stay connect through Facebook with our updates. Thanks! Looking forward to hearing your stuff.

question , Who is Kendrick Lamar?

    October 15, 2011 at 11:53 pm
    • Admin says:

Hes a really good west coast rapper. Came out with a few mixtapes and they are all pretty good. His flow is crazy; he can adapt his style to sound like any rapper and very lyrical.
      Check out this blog post.

just sayin.. crooked i is waaaayyyy nicer than kendrick lamar.. but kendrick is pretty good compared to the garbage that is out there nowadays.. so here the deal.. you want a 16 or a 32 about something other then the norm.. easy.. my question is.. when does this end and who votes on these? bkuz i see the due date but around when will winners be informed and also i wanna know who’s votings kuz if its a plays/fan voting thing i dont like that bkuz the masses dont understand the type of rap you even pushing with this contest.. but if its some people who is about hip hop that live and love this culture.. i’m in.. i just aint gonna try to have a fan contest where we gotta get plays n stuff like that.. if thats the case we can just go to our reverbnation pages n see who has the most plays ya know.. i want someone qualified to be judging these verses, win, lose or otherwise.. thanks for your time

We will be mixing the stems together at the end so eventually submitting the vocal track will be necessary to get the prizes.

          October 23, 2011 at 5:04 am
          • froz aka smokey bryant says:

if by stems you are referring to the beat stem and the vocal stems.. i’m assuming you want me to mix all my vocals down to a stem and send you that accapella just to be placed onto the track.. if so this will be done for you tonight.. and in ya email..
or do you want this completely unmixed and to just send you guys the vocal tracks i layed in the wav files raw? and based on that.. where would you like that sent? bkuz wav files dont fit in emails generally.. less you want 4 different emails kuz i lay my vocals 4 times for a verse.. do you have a dropbox account? if not let me know how this can be sent..

            October 24, 2011 at 10:43 am
          • froz aka smokey bryant says:

soo i’m sending the wav file of the mixed down vocal stem (accapella) and a fully mixed (reference track) of how my vocal’s should essentially sit into the beat.. bkuz you said you wanted stems.. if you want the vocals broken down further let me know kuz like i said before that is way to much to send thru email and if so i will invite you to a dropbox folder and i’ll send stuff that way.. but there will most likely be two emails because each wav file is going to max out the send capacity of yahoo. thanks again for the opportunity

It can be 32 bars for sure?

    October 16, 2011 at 3:56 pm
    • Admin says:

Yeah definitely. Go for the 32!

      October 16, 2011 at 4:57 pm
  • Brandon Jones says:

That’s not difficult, rapping without cursing should be easy to do, as well as the money, hoes, clothes, etc. I feel as though people have lost the true meaning of hip-hop and see it only for profitable gain and fame. I’ll be entering and at least trying to help things.

I want to use Lies, but there’s not even 32 bars on it. Should I just do the 16?

    October 16, 2011 at 10:11 pm
    • Admin says:

I just uploaded an extended version!

      October 17, 2011 at 6:57 pm
  • Brandon Jones says:

I already used a different one, and it fit much better too, but whoever made LIES, shouts to you. If I could submit twice I would!

    October 18, 2011 at 2:34 pm
    • Admin says:

You can submit as many times as you want!

      October 19, 2011 at 3:08 am
  • SHEMUEL says:

DOES THIS HAVE TO BE SEND IN 11/26/11 OR BEFORE THAT DATE?

    October 19, 2011 at 2:58 am
    • Admin says:

No, you can send it in anytime between now and then… You can also submit as many tracks as you want… So if you spit like 10 tracks, you’ll be more likely to win…

  • The Beats Makers Software Guy says:

Great post. Technology has come so far. It\\\’s amazing that anyone with the right beats makers software can create pumping beats and music right on their own computer.

It really makes it possible for anyone to become a music mixer or DJ.

This class also covers things besides Hip-hop and rap, correct? I’m very interested in making house and dance music. I understand you guys work off reason which is great, because I’m quite familiar with reason, I was just wondering if there was a specific curriculum or something.

    January 9, 2012 at 1:44 am
    • Admin says:

Yeah, we work with Reason 6… you should probably be in our more advanced class for people already familiar with music production. A lot of the techniques you learn about hip hop/rap will apply to making house and dance music… Synthesizer and drum programming are the same for any genre that use those instruments. You can apply it to whatever music genre you want but more specifically those two genres because they are merging and mixing.
